Family Brunch and More

This Sunday we got together in Eagle with my mom's family, who we see very little of due to the distance everyone lives. We had a terrific brunch at Eagle Hills Country Club and caught up on family news. Here are some pics of the occasion:

So the weekend was spent in the Boise area, shopping like crazy, both for us and for the lodge, and visiting both sets of families. It was a great weekend and we're so thankful we get to see our families somewhat often. But let me tell you, after participating in the madness of Costco and Winco on a Sunday in 90 degree weather we were just a LITTLE bit thankful to return to the serenity of the mountains! My only major pet peeve up here so far is the MOSQUITOES!!!! Holy COW!!! They're man sized and EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME!!! We planted to garden this morning around 9:00 and they were positively swarming! We have the beautiful deck and gorgeous view to enjoy in the evenings, but I am having a hard time coming to an understanding with the pesky varmints!!! I guess I"ll have to bite the bullet and wear mosquito repellant, despite being pregnant. Its the not the greatest idea in the world but my doctor says better deet than West Nile....alas. Here's the lodge...
D.R. built a fence to go around the garden to keep out the squirrels...I'm so used to seeing him in his bankers clothes that its a whole new experience seeing him build fence and drive a tractor!!!
